A Recipe from Nancy

Nancy made some delightful healthy treats and would like to share the recipe with us.  I would like to share the actual Larabars she made, but I imagine her family has already made them history.  They sound super good.

She found the recipe on this food blog.  This is a great site with lots of recipes and tips for using unprocessed and healthy foods.

  • 1 cup Medjool dates, pitted
  • 1 cup raw cashews
  • ¼ cup peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon water

  1. Combine dates, cashews, peanut butter and water in a food processor and puree until mixture starts to stick together. Add a little more water if necessary to help mixture come together.
  2. Pick up date mixture and using your hands work to squeeze it together into one big clump. Mash it down on a cutting board or sheet of wax paper to form into one even rectangle shape using the sides of your hands (or a knife) to make the edges straight.
  3. Slice into 12 even squares. For best results store in the fridge, although bars can be kept at room temperature.

Nancy's Valentine

Here is creative Nancy's contribution to Valentine Day fashion.  The Children's Minestry at her Church is the venue for the fashion creations.

Well, this pair seems to fit a little better, wouldn't you say?

Bowling

The last time I went bowling was about 50 years ago, and my score was 18.  Consequently, I couldn't muster much enthusiasm for the Jones XI team bowling event.  But now that I see what fun everyone was having, I am thinking I should have just humiliated myself and gone along.

This is a very good looking group!

Scary!!

Who knew Allison had another side to her seeming benevolent nature!  That calm, kind figure we see coming along to help us out seems - at least on Halloween - to have a dark, zombie-esque alter-ego.

Altogether pretty creepy.   Zombies are really, really scary as far as I am concerned.  I'm glad I was working that night.

Allison says, "The first one is after we did the Thriller Flashmob in Pioneer Square, then that night we did the Zombie dash..basically a big game of tag throughout South Lake Union!
We had fun practicing our "Zombie" faces!"

Happiest welcome!

We are so happy to welcome the latest little member of our Ortho family!  Congratulations to dear Apple on the birth of adorable little Rafael Luis.

Big brother Aleq seems quite pleased with his new little sibling.

Little Rafael is super sweet looking! But that's what one would expect from our dear Apple!
